Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London, on 22 August 1995. After doing work as a fashion model and songwriter, she was able to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album. It reached 3 in the U.K. Charts and produced eight singles. This included Be the One I.D.G.A.F The U.K. Number One single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British breaking-through act in the year of 2018. Her album was certified platinum across the world. Dua Lipa was birthed to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on the 22nd of August, 1995. Her mother is Bosnian. You can also trace Lipa's relatives back from Peja who was from Kosovo. Her two great-grandparents are historians. Her siblings are Rina as well as Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father who was the leader guitarist and vocalist for Oda, the Kosovan rock group Oda. Her father at home continued playing music which included his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at age five. In the year she turned nine, she started singing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa recorded the song If I Ain't Got You with Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to be uploaded on YouTube. In 2014, Lipa signed a record deal in partnership with Warner Bros. Records. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
