Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also an accomplished public speech writer. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency the website which includes videos and comments on the representation of women in pop cultural. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning feminist journalist from Canada and a blogger. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that investigates representations of women in narratives from popular culture. In her efforts to break down stereotypes related to women in popular media, she is also working with issues that relate to the targeted harassment women and other classes of people on the internet. Sarkeesian is also a graduate of York University master's in social philosophy, political and philosophical thinking. Alongside being a well-known public speaker, she's given speeches at the TEDxWomen conference and the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was launched in the year 2009 by Sarkeesian, university student who has been fascinated by issues that concern gender and feminism since a long period of. The ambitious young woman was targeted online for launching a website series on gender in videogames. This attack was not enough to deter her. In fact, it increased her importance to be a feminist as well as media critique. In recognition of the many achievements she's made for feministism, she's the recipient of numerous awards.
